A Beautiful Day in Bedford

The day before our scheduled Caterham 7 Driving Experiencemy husband gave himself the day off work. We originally had an appointment for Charles at the Eye Clinic at the hospital but I changed it to 3 days later and we searched our English Heritage book to find somewhere fun and exciting to go for a picnic.
We struggled, the English Heritage passes have been such a waste of money for us and we are really disappointed, but we eventually shortlisted two places. Wrest Park in Bedford and somewhere in Cambridgeshire.
We chose Wrest Park but as we got there realised that it was closed, silly us for getting the open days of the two places mixed up. Despite that there was still a HUGE green area opposite the stately home so we sat and had a picnic and let the boys lose for a couple of hours.
We then drove into Bedford and went for a walk along the embankment, very nearly getting attacked by an over protective goose...thank goodness Charles can run!

We lived in Bedford in 2004 until 2007 and never visited these places. I wish we had done now as it seems we really wasted our time when we were there.

Photo overload, sorry ;-)
