Lisa is a stay at home mummy to daughter Little H, and son Baby J.
"I like to write about the everyday trials and tribulations of being a mummy to two young children, as well as various other expeditions our family undertake. I love to share tales of our adventures and playtimes as well as the things we love".
Why do you like photography?
I in no way class myself as an expert photographer, and tend to stick to my iPhone. However I absolutely love taking photos and keeping a memory of my family’s lives. Memories can be so fleeting and selective, that often those little moments can get forgotten, with a photo it can be cherished forever.
What do you like taking photos of?
Now I mainly photograph the children, much to their annoyance! J will still crack a happy grin for me, but H has to be in he right mood or I just get a sulky pose!
Do you have a particular style?
I like to capture people when they don’t know I’m taking photos, I find the less posed ones the most interesting. I am trying to experiment with the rule of thirds and light, but, experimenting is all it is at the moment!
When did you first get into photography?
My parents are not big photographers at all, but I always loved looking through their albums at old photos of us. I remember my very first camera, I would love taking photos of random things and my sis and I loved posing together. Ever since then I have been the one who takes the photos - my university bedroom wall was always covered in many a night out - and it still continues today!
What kind of photos do you like looking at?
I do like lovely professional ones, but definitely the more casual shots that are outdoors are my favourite. However Instagram is my favourite app as there is so much variety on there and the photos are from so many different types of photographers, every day there is a shot that inspires me in some way.
What are your three favourite photographs you have ever taken?
1: The first photo was taken on a lovely warm evening when we decided to go out for a stroll. Mr H was playing with Little H and I just took a few snaps - this one came out so fantastic and it is one of my favourite shots.
2: This photo was taken early this summer before we had started our garden. The children had nowhere to play outside in the sun, but I had a tuff spot so we made it work! I love how much fun they are having in this, it makes me smile every time I look at it.
3: H wasn’t actually the focus of this shot, but when I saw it I zoomed in to her as she just looked so beautiful. We were going to see Mickey’s Roadshow and she was dressed as Tinkerbell. She was just leaning on the wall casually when it was snapped and it came out lovely. When I look at it I realise how big my girl is getting.
