Love The Little Things #6

With it now being February we have a new book as part of the Year of Change Book Club. We are reading 59 Seconds by Professor Richard Wiseman.
I wrote about my feelings towards our last book, How to Win Friends and Influence People and so far the new book has been a lot better, for me. Just a few pages in I learnt A LOT and although maybe it won't change me, it really made sense.

This week again has been all about the Real Housewives of Orange County. I can't even talk about it because the Reunion episodes wound me up so much. For anyone who watches it I think Vicki's behaviour and attitude towards Brookes is totally wrong, especially after what Brianna had revealed, and I think they have all been pretty unfair towards Gretchen this year. As my mum pointed out, Tamra never seems to be the one getting picked on...but seems to be involved in everything.

I already have Ellie Goulding Halcyon album but after her re-releasing it THREE TIMES, (gosh it does make me angry, just release another album) I am going to purchase the Halcyon Days Deluxe Edition album. I've loved Ellie Goulding ever since Starry Eyed came out and find her music so therapeutic. Seeing her in concert in 2010 was one of the best things I have ever done. She was amazing.

Last year I set myself a small list of foods I had to try, so I could be a bit more adventurous. This year I did the same and in that list was Coffee and Walnut cake.
Morgana posted a coffee cake recipe last week and I made it as soon as the ingredients arrived last Friday. By Saturday afternoon our big coffee cake had gone! I couldn't believe the boys loved it so much too.
I then made a coffee cake in a loaf tin and some coffee cupcakes too.

For a while we seemed to be lucky with missing rain on the school run but on Wednesday this week we had the worst school run weather ever. It was so bad that the school let us go in a different entrance so we could get out of the rain.
I don't have a waterproof coat so I stole the one my husband bought for sailing. I'm hoping this will encourage him to buy one for me sooner than we planned.
My Ugg boots are ruined and my Converse were soaked. I think this gives me another excuse to buy these as soon as possible.

And lastly...

Yesterday I wrote two important posts. One was just to celebrate my third blogging birthday/anniversary. The other post was to raise awareness of the #timetotalk campaign. I wasn't asked to write about it but I noticed the campaign a week or so ago and made a pledge to blog about it.
I spoke to my mum and to my husband about mental health yesterday which along with my post made me feel quite proud.
