Love The Little Things #14

I read the boys two new books this week. One was Oliver Jeffers 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy' which is brilliant and one of our new favourites. And also Julia Donaldsons 'The Smartest Giant In Town', which we've had for almost a year and hadn't yet read.
The boys got really involved with these books and the fact the books captured them encouraged me to be more enthausastic when reading to them.

This week has been quite good when it comes to watching films. I have watched
| Saving Mr Banks
| We Need To Talk About Kevin
| Monsters University
| Planes
Saving Mr Banks and Monsters University are my favourite of the 4.
I adore Tom Hanks so I knew Saving Mr Banks would be fantastic, I was so glad it lived up to my expectations.

One of the best things about Saving Mr Banks was the chance to hear the songs from Mary Poppins. I said it in a previous post but I definitely think the Mary Poppins soundtrack is much better than the Frozen one.

A couple of bookings! I booked my train ticket to Britmums earlier on in the week and then on Thursday the prices had gone down for the return journey so I booked those tickets too. I'm an absolutely snob and will only go First Class on the train to London and as these were an absolute bargain I am over the moon! I was a little worried that the Saturday tickets would stay at over £100 so I'm now relaxed and happy to have it all sorted and paid for.

Speaking of bargains I ordered this dress from Dorothy Perkins last week for £12. I've been looking at it for a while in black and navy but they didn't have my size. Then one appeared in navy last week and I couldn't resist! It's really comfy and fits well. The long sleeves make it perfect for spring and a coatless school run!

And lastly...

This week I went to Charles' school twice and it was amazing. On Tuesday we (the whole of reception, teachers and some parent helpers) went on a walk to the bakery for them to all buy a biscuit. The weather was beautiful so the walk was lovely.
On Thursday we had a share morning at the school. First we had to complete a "chocolate hunt" in the Reception outside area and once we'd found one we went inside to the hall to do crafts and to do an egg and spoon race. I loved the chance to have quality time with Charles and to see him in the school environment.
Although I'm now excited to have him home for 2 weeks and we have a list of things we plan to do and places we must visit.
