Eat Your Photo Cake | Review

When I'd planned for the boys to have a joint party I was pretty much laid back when it came to the bouncy castle, the buffet, the decorations. I had an idea in my mind but if it didn't all come together I didn't really mind.
The one thing that caused me the most panic was the cake. I needed to get something that was big enough for our guests, fit the theme, and was suitable enough for both boys. I thought about going for 2 Monsters University cakes from the supermarket and although it wasn't the end of the world, it was special enough.

When Eat Your Photo contacted me asking if I would like to review one of their cakes we agreed that it would be the perfect opportunity to get it delivered in time for the boys birthday.

I wanted a photo of both of the boys and decided to go for a recent one of them both on the boat. I also had to choose some text for the cake and went for 'Birthday Boys'.
I was really impressed with the flavours available:
  • Vanilla Sponge Cake
  • Chocolate Cake
  • Carrot Cake
  • Lemon Cake
  • Toffee Cake
I almost opted for Vanilla Sponge but felt it was the "standard" birthday cake flavour so instead went for chocolate to be a bit different.
And then I waited until the 19th when the cake was due to be delivered.
The excitement of opening the box was high, I was impressed at how well the cake was packaged and would be surprised if any cakes sent would be damaged. I was delighted when I saw the quality of the photo, as was Charles and Harry who didn't know they would be seeing their faces on top of their birthday cake.

The guests at the birthday party were so impressed with the cake and it made a great feature on the buffet table.

Once the candles were blown out it was time to get slicing. We obviously had no idea what the inside of the cake would be like, and my worst fears were that it would be dry. OH MY GOODNESS! It was the yummiest chocolate cake I have ever had.
It was beautifully moist yet we were able to slice it neatly for the party bags.
We had around 30 children and still after cutting slices for them we were left with a lot of cake.

I am not usually a fan of cake but I couldn't resist eating big chunks of this cake everyday (how I didn't mess up my diet and weight loss I do not know, I was very lucky) and even my sister in law, who hates cake, tried a bit and commented on how nice it is.

The photo cake costs £35.00 which for the size, quality and the fact that it is personalised with a photo of your choice is very very reasonable.

Would we recommend Eat Your Photo? 100% YES!

I can't think of a bad thing to say about the service or the product.

We were sent the square photo cake for the purpose of this review.
