One shop I can always rely on when in need of a wardrobe update is Dorothy Perkins. I find that they have a great mix of items for all ages, shapes, and styles. Prices are affordable and their sale is always full of bargain items.
With my recent weight loss I have been a bit more confident when wearing dresses so have wanted to get some more to cover the summer and also needed to invest in some smaller jeans. Having a 3 year old boy at home with me constantly means popping to the store isn't convenient so I have been using the Android App.
I find the website online is easy to navigate, and the mobile site is too. The app is pretty much the same as the mobile site so I was able to convert to that with ease and knew my way around.
I prefer dresses to trousers, shorts or skirts so tend to head straight for that on the menu. These were really easy to browse and I like being able to firstly, choose the style of dress, and then select the size I want, the colour/s I prefer, and to choose my maximum price.
If I want something other than dresses, or can't find a suitable dress, then I'll look at skirts, trousers and shorts. When putting an outfit together I tend to start with those and have them as the main focal point of the outfit. I will then choose a top, shoes, knitwear and jewellery around that.
When it comes to 'Checkout' I like to see all of my items together, mainly so I can review and give myself a chance to change my mind, but also so I can quickly put together all my outfit choices in my head so I'm not left wondering why I bought a skirt that matches no tops I own.
I've put together 5 outfits to get me through the summer. Taking into account some events we are going to and days out we are hoping to go on.
1. The wedding and the birthday party.
We've been invited to a wedding reception and also a birthday party for a family member who will be turning 100! Both important and special occasions.
I put together a dress, a simple cream cardigan, and some tan wedge heels.
I would also wear this dress with flats as a casual everyday outfit.
2: A weekend on the boat.
Choosing outfits for the boat is hard because although it might be a hot day, it can get quite chilly in the middle of the broads.
I'm in the habit now of taking shorts and a pair of trousers and then dressing accordingly. If there is one thing we have learnt from sailing it's that the weather is unpredictable!
I chose these bright blue and lime palm print shorts, a pale blue cami, a light blue fishermans jumper, and some white pumps.
The cami and jumper would also go perfectly with a pair of super skinny jeans.
3: Lunch with family.
My family from Somerset are visiting this August. We will be getting together and going to one of our favourite pubs for lunch. I wouldn't want to be too casual but also, not too overdressed. And of course, being comfortable is important, especially when consuming a big roast dinner followed by an amazing dessert.
I chose the Zig Zag tube skirt, the light blue cami, and wedge sandals.
4: Days out.I'm planning on taking the boys to lots of local attractions this Summer and I think a pretty cami dress is ideal. Also adding a simple flat sandal.
5: Beach days.Beach days can either include a full day down at the beach, relaxing and playing in the sand, splashing in the sea, eating chips and ice cream or simply an hour or two just walking along, paddling in the sea.
I think this outfit suits any beach trip because it is comfortable, perfect for hot weather, and the jellies are ideal to wear if you have wet or sandy feet.
